I have been having one of all those days where stress seems to have more strength than passion. It began before I woke up and it’s been fairly challenging to shift into passion. Luckily, this does not happen often and I can usually focus on doing anything that does motivate me.
Dr. Joe Dispense states that he does not get out of bed in the early morning until he is prepared to give the world his best strength. My first thought was: he obviously does not have dogs. My second idea was: some days I would have to stay in bed until noon.
Due to the fact my wife and I do have dogs, my way of modifying the energy of my adverse stories is to intentionally and deliberately focus on what lights me up throughout my day. In addition to my other grounding rituals, numerous times a day, I take the time to response some questions: What is the best view of what’s resulting in this stress? What if I adopt a feeling of trust rather than fear? How can I bring enthusiasm to this time and this activity? What’s the energy I expertise when I answer these concerns? Through knowingly and forcibly making myself stop and analyze these questions and my answers, I am setting the system to identify what is bothering me and then equip myself to change it as best as I can.
When negativity’s grip is exceptionally tenacious, I just keep asking editions of these questions. A while during the day I will begin to notice that I have spent a while in flow, experiencing myself. On most days suffering from that flow is enough to keep the power ball moving in the upward direction.
After several years of paying interest and being more intentional about where I focus my ideas, I realize the less amount of time I spend in negative energy. There was a time in my life where I spent significant time focusing on loss and thereby I lost years. So, having a bad early morning is not a big deal. Luckily I also like writing these musings. Today I happily spent some time writing about having one of those days. Hey, it helped.
If you find on your own having one of those days, get intentional about re-framing, re-focusing and re-energizing your thoughts. Ask the questions that will bring positive energy with the answers.
