Happy Birthday to you Dada !8th July 1951, the city of Paris was founded, the day on which Vasco-da-Gama set sail on the first direct European journey to India in 1497, mingled with several historical events 8th July also acts a day of celebration for many with a mutual cause. 8th July 1972, a boy was born in an affluent Brahmin family of Kolkata, having a keen wish to play cricket he started of to follow his goals and interest for the game. Definitely showing his virtues and his magical sense of game, he got selected in the Indian team with a high rated debut. His qualities and sense of game got him the place of the Captain of the Indian cricket team. Born under the zodiac sign of Cancer – The crab, restlessly this born leader showed his capabilities as a captain, taking the team to new heights of indomitable glory, even though all over his career he had to prove himself again and again, he did the same with a smiling face showing his bat to all the critics with the true spirit of this game. Yes, Sourav Ganguly is celebrating his 41th birthday today, 8th July 2013. A man who has always led his side from the front and taught his boys to fight till the end. His career has always been an motivation for the youths. His comebacks have developed zeal of fighting spirit in the people who is not even a part of any sports. He is like this only; born to a rich and worthy family he never got things easily. He had travelled in public transport while going to exercise from his house to the Eden gardens.

He got The Captaincy of the National team when the team was going under a rough phase of match fixing. He did not run away and slowly started to built a team which later on went on becoming One of the Best in the world.He considered in the Young Guns and they proved their “Dada” Correct. A man who taught how to face competitors like Australia, South Africa in there own home grounds and comeback winning. People used to say that the Indian Cricket team knows how to win in the sub-continent only. Mr. Ganguly had changed every thing as we know he was intended to do that.
