Free Exciting Dates for Couples

Free Exciting Dates for CouplesDating is a challenge in itself these days, but with the poor economy, it’s even harder to be able to afford to go on a date with your spouse or important other. By being artistic, there are some wonderful times to be had, for no money at all. If you are dating someone, and you take them on a date that costs no money, and they are turned off by it, then there’s a hint this individual may not be the person you want to spend the rest of your life with!

Here are my top 7 free dates to help you have fun with the one you love:

1) Go to a local or state park and take a hike…

There are plenty of state parks that are free and will allow admittance from dusk till dawn. Others will let you in for free after 5:00 p.m. taking a hike is not only good for your bodies, but is a beautiful way to spend some time together. All you really need is helpful shoes, and maybe some cold water which you can bring from home. A camera is a nice idea as well because it can help you take pictures to recall the date, and the beauty of nature about you.

2) Watch for falling stars…

When my children were little we used to spread a blanket out in the field behind our house and spend an hour or so many an August night watching for falling stars after dark. It was a very special time because while we watched for stars, we talked about all kinds of things that were on our mind, or questions we hadn’t thought to ask each other during our busy days. This can work well for couples too. Just bring the bug apply, or an extra blanket on cool nights. And don’t forget to make a wish when you see the star, and before it is totally done blazing across the sky. I wished on many a falling star back in the days I was dating my husband…and there you have it, we are married now so it really works!

3) Go to the beach…

Taking a walk hand in hand on the beach, just at the water’s edge so you’re feet get wet but your clothes don’t need to, is a very romantic date. For real romance though, it’s best to go after the crowds have gone home. Dusk is perfect, as you may be fortunate enough to see a sunset, or if you stay long enough on a moonlit night, the moon will light your way down the beach. You can bring chairs or a blanket and just listen to the waves as they crash against the shore. Picnics are great on the beach as well. Speaking of picnics…

4) Go on a picnic…

Picnics are great, and can be expert anywhere that is a beautiful or favorite spot. State parks, beaches, out in the woods, ignoring a lake or pond, etc. All you need is a pretty spot, and food you already have from home.

5) Go fly a kite…

Assuming you have a kite at home presently, it costs you nothing to fly a kite. If you don’t have a kite flying area near your house, you may have to spend a little gas money to get to an open field or beach but it’s a wonderful way to spend a mid-day.

6) Go to an outside show…

Outdoor concerts are so much fun because not only do you get to hear great music for free, but you can sit in comfort as well. Just make sure to bring comfortable chairs or a comfy blanket to lay on. And of course and outside show with a picnic from home adds to the enjoyment. Even if it’s just soda and snacks. Once it gets dark, you can lay side by side and look at the stars while being musically amused.

7) Go to a free event by entering contests and sweepstake to win free tickets….

There are sweepstakes and free contests going on around you all the time. You can hear them on radio stations, watch for them in the newspaper, and go online to find them. Winning tickets to anything that makes it free makes for a great expertise. I have heard people on the radio win passes to events, sporting events, movies, eateries, the circus, plays, and state and local fairs. Half the fun of going to these events is knowing that you saved money by earning the tickets.
