What’s your Net Worth?

Social Networking

You might be using Facebook and Twitter to post casual musings about life, or to express your outrage about social and political issues. But if these posts create conversations and are consistently shared , retweeted or liked by your friends and followers, then you could be considered a social media influencer. And increasingly, prospective employers and marketing gurus are no the lookout for such people. Yes, your social networking activity can go a long way in opening doors of opportunities for you.

So if you’re interested in finding out your internal worth, here are a few sites that you should bookmark. Most images gurus swear by these tools. And these ranking system are the newest measure of coolness; plus, they can do winders for that narcissistic streak in you.

Klout

Klout is easily one of the best free tools to measure your online influence. All you need to do is sign-in and give it access to your Twitter and Facebook accounts. The site then processes different indicators like@mentions, retweets, likes and components to sum up your social worth on a scale of 1 to 100(Justin Bieber with over 23 million followers is the only person with a perfect 100).

Klout can also be used to analyze your score to find out your true reach (the number of people who react to your posts), Amplification (the likelihood that your message will get retweets, shares or comments) and network impact (the number of times top influencers in your network respond to your content).

Another cool feature is ‘Klout Style’ that tells you a little bit about your online personality, including whether you are a curator, dabbler, taste makes, specialist or thought leader. And friends can even use this platform to endorse which topics you might be influential in.   klout.com

PeerIndex

Like Klout, peerindex lets you link your social networking accounts to give you a listing of the people you influence and people who influence you. The portal also creates a graphical representation called the Topic Fingerprint that is surprisingly accurate in charting the topic you post most about, such as media, technology, science, health, medicine, arts and entertainment.

You can find your rank amongst friends by creating a public group, where members are ranked by the peer index score. For instance take the Indian influencer list, which has 1,192 users. Personalities like Ram Gopal Varma, Shashi Tharoor and Deepak Chopra top the charts. And you can also add your Linked in, Twitter and Facebook accounts to get an idea of your cross-network score.    Peerindex.com

Twitalyzer

This free service checks your tweets to tell you if you’re a reporter, social butterfly, trendsetter, thought leader or everyday user. The portal does this by analyzing your account based on various metrics, including the impact of your tweets, level of engagement, influence, frequency of tweet, etc. Twitalyzer also has a public ranking of the most influence people on Twitter (twitaluzer.com/list.asp) with Justin Bieber (again!), Rihanna and Barack Obama at the top. But only basic analytic tools are free. For a detailed report about activity and trends, you have to sign up for a paid account at $4.99 (Rs.277) a month. Twitalyzer.com

Favstar

Ever wanted to know which of your tweets were favourited or retweeted the most? Try Favstar will display those tweets that were starred by other people, along with the thumbnail photos of users who ‘starred’ them.

The nifty tool also helps generate a list of popular tweets by any user when you key in their Twitter handle.

Among other things, Favstar has become the go-to destination to find interesting posts that have gone viral, be it profound musings, funny tweets, rib-tickling quips or astonishing revelation. The best bit, however, is that it filters out tweets by celebrities (because their popularity is a given) so you are only served entries of non-celebrity tweeters.
