Everyday we read in newspapers how woman are tortured for the sake of dowry after marriage or wedding.

A woman here is burnt to death, there another woman taken poisoned.

There are also cases of suicide by innocent woman after marriage or wedding.

The reason behind most of these cases is that the lust of the dowry . Seekers of dowry could not be satisfied.

A girl may be educated, still her parents have to give handsome dowry on her marriage to  in laws. It has been seen that even parents of those girls who are doctors, professors and I.A.S officers have to give dowry to the daughters at the time of their marriage.

The bride’s parents are pressed hard and exploited to give more dowry. Rich have enough of black money. They make a rich show of their wealth in marriage.

They become trend setters, Middle class and poor people have to follow their foot steps. A middle class person can hardly make both ends meet but he has to give big dowry to his daughter.

if he fails to do so, their daughter is not likely to lead a happy life in the house of her in laws after marriage or wedding.

For a girl and her parents, marriage in the hindu society is not an occasions of joy. it is an occasion of fear,suspense and uncertainty.
The police should act promptly in such cases, In a recent case the sessions court in delhi made history. In this case the culprits were given death sentence.

The dowry system is a stigma on our society. it is an insult to our women.

Please suggest how a dowry system can be removed from our society.
