Innovative and Romantic I’m a strong believer in romance, the art of romance and a real sucker for the simple displays of meaningful thought. What I don’t conform with is thinking romantic actions or gifts, no matter how small are important for the one day of the year, February 14th.Relationships need romance and it’s all too often kicked to the curb as everyday life takes over. Choosing the right gift with the person in mind is important and knowing their interests, hobbies, pet hates or dislikes makes it much easier when it comes to a thoughtful, romantic present. Putting on my artistic thinking cap to find special romantic gifts, here are some of my own thoughts or ideas I found that I would like to pass on.
Homemade Flowers
Making your own flowers out of crepe paper is a funky gift that lasts rather than a dozen red roses which whilst lovely to receive and smell gorgeous, however do not last very long. Jamie Brock has easy to follow tutorials on making paper roses and for making paper carnations which are very doable creative projects and ideal gifts for him or for the lady in your life.
Be creative with colors if your other half loves a specific color rather than sticking to lifestyle and take into concern what your other half likes or dislikes. For example there are certain flowers I really don’t like and if my partner is aware of this then he knows to avoid buying them.
Even if you are not the most gifted cook, melting some chocolate to dip some strawberries into, is easily achievable not needing any special creativity. You could then transfer them to clear cellophane and tie them up with a nice bow, some curling ribbon and voila, you have been creative! However put them into a nice jar or box. Experiment with other fruits your loved one enjoys just to be different!
Taking it up a notch, you could make your own chocolates, fudge or any sweetie favorite and bag them up.
Eating out does not have to mean table for two in a costly restaurant. Why not put together a lovely picnic and carry your other half on a magical mystery tour by not telling them where you are going or what you will be doing. Bear in mind the climate and make sure they are dressed appropriately. You will probably have a number of choices for venues so think of somewhere that may have beautiful views, landscapes or actions. Anywhere that is special to you both is ideal.
For an example my brother did this and brought his girlfriend to the sports grounds of their old school for a picnic to pop the question of marriage! Maybe not the most romantic of settings but it was anywhere unique that’s for sure.
